About Miss Hamblin-Walker

Hi Everyone! My name is Miss Hamblin-Walker and I have been working with children for almost 15 years and have been a Primary School Teacher for 7 years.

I was born and grew up in Australia; however, my mother is from Barbados and my father is from England. I have an older brother who is a musician and a younger sister who is a model/DJ. My partner is a professional drummer and seeing as though I am surrounded by musicians, you’d think I’d become one… but alas teaching stole my heart. I did run the choir at school, if that counts 🙂

My family and friends mean the world to me.

I love to travel and learn about different cultures. I have travelled to Europe, America, The Caribbean, South East Asia, Asia Pacific Region and the Middle East.

Coming from a culturally diverse background, I believe in creating an inclusive environment where children can develop a strong sense of community and acceptance. I have a passion for teaching and instilling the love of storybooks in children. I believe that storybooks take us on an adventure outside of the classroom walls. They allow us to see life from another’s eyes and develop an understanding about the world around us.
